She embarked on a journey of exploration and education, helping others in her community by intimately documenting her hair journey on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, gaining millions of views and opening safe spaces for much-needed debate.

On being a black woman...

“To me, being a black woman means being beautifully unapologetic, walking with an abundance of pride, passion, and purpose, and being unafraid to take up space and be vocal no matter how heavy the weight of the ridicule, prejudice and intimidation that attempts to silence me may be.”
