The Award

The Power of a Woman Awards are now in their 4th year. After three successful Awards nights, we once again celebrate the women of colour that make a difference to us all through their impact in business and community.

This year, The Power of A Woman Awards ceremony recognises accomplishments spanning entertainment, literature, education,  business, faith and much more. The Awards serve to give a platform and space for UK and international female talent, creating new opportunities,  promoting recognition for worthy accomplishments, increasing visibility and sharing success.

Our nominees have been carefully handpicked for their ability to inspire and uplift the community by being role models that personify and amplify what it means to have the ‘Power Of A Woman.’

The Event

The next Power of a Woman Awards take place on 8th March 2026 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

Join us for this black-tie event celebrating the exceptional talent and success of black women.

The evening will include a red carpet reception followed by a two-course dinner with complementary drinks for VIP attendees, nominees and partners. A dedicated press area will be available to interview VIPs, nominees, special guests and performers.

During the course of the evening, we honour our nominees and award winners while enjoying live performances from some of the best-known and loved UK artists.

The night wouldn’t be complete without the after-party.

Advertise in our Exclusive Magazine

This Awards Season sees the launch of our exclusive new magazine, The Power of A Woman (what else!).

The TPOAW Awards Judges

Every year we’re asked, “how do you pick the winners?”

We can’t give away the secret recipe to the judging process, but we can give you an insight, so you know it’s fair!

Firstly, Fredi and the Team aren’t involved in the judging, except of course for Fredi’s Honorary Award and The Angela Nwaka Award, which represents the memory of his mother, Angela.

We are mindful that not everyone has access to social media or the type of following that can guarantee a win based purely on votes. So, we take a measured approach, based 50 / 50 on votes and the views of the judging panel. This ensures that those nominees who don’t use social media still have a fair chance of winning based on merit.

Of course, we can’t ignore the popular vote, but the process is designed to offer every one of our nominees a fair chance of winning one of our coveted awards.

Each category has an expert judge and helps our 3 main judges to make an informed decision, a total of 10 judges to ensure fairness.

So now you know, how we judge, who are you nominating?

The Power of Recognition

The Power of Recognition

The POAW Awards recognise and elevate already successful nominees raising their profiles even further.  This platform of excellence gives every nominee greater visibility amongst their peers, promoting achievements, and creating future opportunities.

And, most importantly, it connects like-minded people who can exponentially create even greater excellence. Above all, our nominees are role models for the next generation, showing young girls and women of colour that anything is possible.

It’s also fair to say that ‘joy’ is a wonderful side effect that comes with the experience of being recognised.

Nominate your heroine.
