To be a woman means wearing many hats, it means you're a Nurse, a Teacher, a Chef, an Emotional Confidant, (and if a Mother and Family Matriarch and Unpaid Uber Driver).  Being a woman means moving forward with ambition and drive and defying the odds.  In combing the aforementioned skills in every day life with her paid work a woman has the ability to create balance and meet male energy in the workplace and still exude her female energy and beauty.

I feel incredibly privileged to be a woman, and one of colour. I get to do so many awesome things, my biggest success to date is I’m a wife, I have three children and five grandchildren. I got to stand up for women of colour in comedy as a pioneer. To whom much is given, much is required, and my DNA means I have much more to do. As a woman, I’m truly blessed.

Being a woman for me is about packaging grace, intuitive wisdom, cultivating a power fueled by love, exercising the ability to nurture and serve those around her, whilst always remembering who she is.

Being a woman to me means celebrating who we are also having so many different abilities as well as being in touch with a whole lot of emotions.

We love, nurture, support but at the same time have to be strong and resilient. We gone through so much naturally like child birth and we have to be multifunctional in our every day lives.

I believe we have to always go over and beyond to make our marks and be seen, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

"To be a woman is a God given privilege as we have the honour to bring life, nurture and cultivate harmony not just through giving birth to a child but to everything and anyone that a fully fledged Queen interacts with in her life."

Being a woman for me means to celebrate who we are  and how far we have come.
To appreciate the women before us that have opened  doors that seemed impenetrable to break through.
Accepting changes within my body after becoming a  mother and nurturing a little person that see’s you as  their everything that I have to also protect from the  negatives in the world.
Having learnt and accepting that I’m not a ‘strong  woman of colour’ I am just a woman with a powerful  position that loves to help others but also if my cup is  not overflowing I need to ensure my health and mental health should be restored and rest is needed.
To love yourself and be kind to others and to  understand it’s not what others say about you that  matters.
It what’s YOU say to yourself that matters and lead  with.
Love first

Women manifest their femininity and womanhood in diverse and unique ways. For me, womanhood is a magical gift that allows me to tap into a tremendous inner power, fortitude, and resilience to face any challenge. It is the beautiful embodiment of strength, vulnerability and compassion that brings much needed balance to the world – we bring forth life, nurture generations and build nations. Being a woman means taking up space, allowing my voice to be heard and speaking out in the face of injustice and oppression. I have a responsibility to myself and others to stand up for what I believe in and to never shrink away to make others feel comfortable. Being a woman is sisterhood, solidarity, encouragement, empowerment and leaving a positive legacy for the next generation. It is using my own success to inspire others and supporting others along their journeys wherever I can.

When a woman acquires the tools to begin healing her past and relating to herself more effectively, she uncovers a new power within.

She will use her creativity and talents to transform the world
She will turn her past defeats into todays triumphs
She will spin old pain into new power
She will learn from her broken heart how to love without fear

She is becoming an alchemist. This is every woman’s journey…

What it means to be a woman "it means more than what we look like in the physical appearance, to be a woman means to be fierce yet fragile, to be compassionate yet strong willed. the ability to believe in myself and to give life to others via words. To be a woman means to show up in my full glory and showcase to the world that we are all the same yet not at the same time. To channel energy in the correct way and be unapologetically myself in the good days and bad.  to be connected to every other woman even as strangers and just being kind to one another"
